Machin’s Sawmill is a family-owned enterprise that has spanned four generations, operating out of Wingham since 1914. As the oldest sawmill in NSW, we have a history that mirrors the trials and tribulations of Australia’s timber industry and have sustained a long reputation for integrity, quality and personalised customer service.

The Machins were a pioneering family in the burgeoning north coast timber industry of the 1900’s. Machin’s mills were some of the first to begin value-adding by building on-site kilns and updating processing machinery – allowing them to flourish through two world wars and the great depression. When Ralph Blenkin took over the family mill in 1982, he again adapted to the times by choosing to re-invent the mill – moving away from mass production to promote superior hardwood to a market concerned with quality and environmental sustainability. Since then, demand for Machin’s locally-sourced timber has continued to grow as consumers discover the strength and beauty of hardwood.

With a knowledgeable staff of 18, Machin’s produces decking, flooring, structural timber, fencing, firewood, dressed timber and more to builders, merchants, architects and the general public. Whether you are crafting furniture, looking for structural timber or need materials for fencing, our team are proud to deliver personalised customer service and supply the highest-quality timber for your project.
